Topic: Blown away by Intel I3 laptop with integrated video...

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Loaded up Virtual DJ and my CDJ400's on an HP DV6T (I think) with Intel I3 processor and integrated video, 4 gig ram and win 7 64 bit. Smoking. No need for dedicated video anymore, gentleman. This thing loaded my MP4 and anything else I threw at it in seconds, Soniques, all of it. Stutter free, lag free. Was just trying out at this spot for the weekend but now I know what I'm getting since my dual core lappy died a couple of months ago.

aren't the new processors great!

My I7 loads videos faster than m dual core loads songs and
I can turn off hardware exec doing the video 100% on the processor and it's like "What got more?"
where my older lappy would start to spike and be choppy

Amazing. These things are incredible. And cheap. I'm looking to spend $700 for a laptop with everything I need for video. Couldnt do that 2 years ago when I bought my current laptop.

Interesting... for me it takes always 2-5 seconds to load big video files from usb hard drive. Do you use laptop internal hard drive?

To be honest i've never had any issues with playing videos from any of my laptops even the lowest spec'd ones, although I notice that mp4 is better quality than mpeg 2 for some reason.

Don't know anything about these new chips your talking about.

I always found it best Jakko to play off internal.

WD 1 TB external straight USB 2.0. Tried the ESATA when I first got it but it was pretty buggy. USB 2.0 hasnt failed me yet.

Like haZord said, these chips have plenty of headroom. Bottomline, they are just freaking workhorses. Not to say AMD's Quadcore doesnt match up, but Intel I3 is the only quad I've had access to. Actually these are dual cores with 4 threads, correct? 750KB cache per thread. Geeks help out here. Anyways these are the ISH!!
