Ok you may have to excuse my ignorance but I've just come across Reloop DJ gear. Since when have they been around?
Does anyone have any experience with their equipment? Are they any good?
I like their 2 channel midi mixer IQ2 with auxillary input...

Reloop has been around for ages, but they've kept quiet during the recent years. They manufacture cheap beginner-level gear, I would not recommend.

So I guess they are like Behringer....
Pics can be so deceiving, I havent found any decent reviews of their equipment so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the input.

Well I wouldn't say they are like a Behringer because at least behringer does its own R&D and does its own manufacturing in Behringer city China so Behringer is actually involved in the whole process but Reloop just buys its products from Chinese manufactures who have crappy R&D and Manufacturing practices....Reloop is basically just a sales team for the unknown chinese manufacture.

But do any of you actually own one?
Newsflash: Nearly all controllers are made in China.
Waiting on further comment...

Reloop is well known here in Germany.
But refering to previous comments reloop is prefered by one and disliked by another.
The TTs Reloop RP-6000 MK5 e.g are getting good ratings.
They are not just for 'beginners'. I would rate them as semi-professional, although I've never tested one by myself.
But others in the German Forum use them and are happy with them.
And as a fact Technics or Pioneer devices are made in Asia too.
Translation from the German Wikipedia:
Technics is a brand name of the Panasonic Corporation (before 1. October 2008 Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.) with their headquarter in Osaka, Japan (...)

Thank you Niko
Its important to point out that all of these devices vary in quality except for the higher end companies such as Pioneer and Denon.
The units are designed by the parent companies and specs for the design build are sent to Asia for production.
Asia in turn produces the unit exactly to spec, they're not the ones who decide to make it cheaply.
Because something is made in China, it doesn't mean the quality is second rate.
So if you want to blame someone, blame the parent manufacturer.
It's made there because they can manufacture faster and at a lesser cost than in the US and Europe.
And if you want to know why, its unions and bottom end wage earners who don't care about anything but a paycheck, at least in the US.
Asians have pride in what they do and value their jobs and it shows in their products.
The kind of thing that causes a jog wheel to be bored off true center is a tooling and production QC problem, but I assure you this would not be found on a Reloop unit. How hundreds of thousands of these can be bored, assembled, qc'd, tested, bagged, boxed and shipped is beyond my comprehension.
IMO, the most important feature of a controller is the feel not the name or past reputation or where it was made.
The weight and spin up of the jogs, the buttons being touch positive action and not clunky and the faders being silky smooth are the things I measure quality by.
These are all things that are well done by Reloop.
I'd never heard of them before I was sent one to test with.
If I had to place it in the ranks, it would be leaning towards pro gear vs entry level.
I would take it over many of the fan boy favorites you read about in this forum.

Ok, I've actually sold quite a few reloop items, mostly cd-players... They are a far cry from what you would call good equipment. Most decent DJ's wouldn't touch one to be quite honest. I've played on them lots of times (and own 2 or 3) and basicly, the physical quality is sub-par and the programming is hopeless. On quite a few of the models you have a looong delay from pressing play until the track actually starts playing, making it useless for mixing...

There is a big difference between items that have been designed and manufactured in Japan and Items that have been made in China, to say Pioneer are also made in Asia doesn’t really mean anything. China and India are knocking out some really poor quality stuff nowadays, and I've seen an increase in price for older well made stuff from other countrys e.g. Abstract lights (UK Made), they sell for as much as a new LED light. Just bought 2 more myself off ebay for £200, could of got 2 LED lights for that but then do you want all your gear to be from China and india? as stated i've hade a terrible run recently, where as the Abstarcts I've just bought are 5 years old and have no issues.
Not having any luck with Chinese products, just bought a Kam smoke machine for smaller gigs so I don't have to use my magnum 2000 all the time as it's overkill, Anyway the kams timer has packed up after just 3 outings.

Hello everybody
I am Hans (EX DJ from the Netherlands) and have living/working 17 jear in Germany, now i am in Asia,
Reloop are one of the best DJ EQUIPMENT Brands in Europe, are high quality DJ equipment. have nothing to do with made in China or cheap beginner-level gear so some talk here, They working same like the hifi audio brand let say QUAD or NAD , NAD have same like Reloop no own factory but let building the high quality components big brand names together to one good product. that mean high quality like brands Technics/Pioneer/. When you look to Technics turntable and Reloop turntable then you see that this model from Reloop are same and also coming from the same factory but only much more cheaper bec you PAY also for the Brand name. In China are also the factory for OEM Service and building there also computers from IBM/DELL/HP/and other brands in the same factory, That mean that also China delivery high quality ! and not always cheap products!

I have to agree with magagar80....Behringer just knows how to keep the price down by designing their products. i have several of their stuff and its good dispice the fact that it was inexpensive.

Well, I recently bought two sets of Headphones, not because I really needed them but because I liked them and I wanted them. I bought the Pioneer HDJ-500, which have great reviews by many Dj's and are rank as some of the best headphones. I also bought the Reloop RHP-10 headphones, and I proved my point once again with these two sets of headphones.
Do you want to pay for the name brand, or do you want to pay for something that will get you the work done regardless of the brand?
Reloop, has some really nice equipment and is highly used in Europe, and it has high standards which are compatible with some of the top of the line Dj hardware out in in the market at this moment.
I don't swear by any brand, but I can tell you that Reloop is a good brand with high quality standards.

The new Reloop jockey 3 (comng out sometime soon) is a well built all metal contruction unit that supposed to be one of Reloop's higher end controller. I'm waiting for it's release as it will replace my vci-100 (similar build)...from what they say ...
