If this is real, then I want to buy some shares in stock if they go public?

Looks pretty cool and very Star Trek. If I was forced to DJ using some sort of touch screen, this could almost be acceptable. Still, it has the same profound flaw that all touchscreens have - touching equals action. With real hardware I can hold my finger on a button without pressing it yet, I can grab a knob or a slider without moving it yet.
As for the VDJ demonstration...I've always thought that those skins that look like real hardware are a dumb idea, but in that context they actually serve a purpose.

it looks like a you could build one pretty easily.. You would just need a peice of glass, a projector, some rear projection material (I saw some fairly transparent material on youtube once), and a bunch of infrared LED's, an infrared camera and freely available multitouch software.
just attach the material to the glass screen, put the infra red LED's around the perimeter of the top side of the touch surface,
Make sure you have an even light flow over the surface of the glass. you could check by using the infrared camera to make sure the whole screen is lit.
project Virtual dj on to the screen from behind.
Place the infrared camera on top of the projector.
This would work like every other DIY multi touch surface on youtube... the camera would pickup where you had pressed as a black spot and you would have a multitouch interface...
But I'm with the other guys, while this would be cool, it would be unreliable for accurate club mixing, plus you would need at least 1.5 meters in front of you for the projection length , but could be fun at home if your just starting out, and depending on where you buy the materials would be cheaper than forking out for Dj gear eg TT's/cdj's and a mixer.

Wonder if you could somehow make a thin curtain of haze that blasted out of the pipes on either side, below where the leds were, so you could project it into the air 3d styles.

You can use a single infrared light for the camera to pick up, you would need to wire up some sort of trigger in a glove though, so yeah if you had the projection going through a thin layer of smoke at an enormous rate of speed, then sucked out just as fast in theory you could do it, but if you had a strong gust of wind that blew the smoke away you would be blind, again not very practical, If you were to make it i'd stick to the semi transparent solid screen as you can at least touch something to co-ordinate your movements and you would still get the wow factor from the other side.
