Sorry to make a whole new thread but for some of us data loss is a huge annoying and time wasting problem,
It takes about 40 hours for me to reanalyze for all my BPM's and that time could be spent doing more important things.
I am having issues with BPM and song title losses and I see many have issues with cue points and other losses,
I realize the reasons for the loss can vary but I am hoping some of you who are more savvy than myself can share some ways to prevent the loss in the first place and how in some if any cases restore the losses, also is there a way to save the data or is it already saved in some file a person can save and then in the case data is lost the file can save the day,
Many thanks!
Cheers,
P.

Just backup your database file regularly then you'll you will have a recent point to go back to. I have been using VDJ for over 2 years on both PC & Mac with none of the problems you have highlighted.

your best bet is too stay with the same thread.. making multiple threads about the same problem makes things confusing and frustrating.. and actually slows down the trouble shooting..

Hippydog...I do not agree this time...in fact so many threads about different data losses make it convoluted and confusing...but thanks for helping with the topic issue!
Keith,
Thanks for the help,
So then in the case of my laptop I have a XML doc located in the VDJ folder in my docs...to be sure I understand you this is the folder you say back up?

Just backup that whole folder, and it will include playlists, history and of course the xml database file.
