Greetings,
I go to eBay and sort the database for the best price. The vendors generally list good specs on the lamps. There are usually at least 2 different quality bulbs. The pricing difference is determined by the number of usable hours. You decide how much you want to spend.
It's been a while now that I purchased a spare bulb for my projector. I went with the cheaper one. If I need to use it, next one will be a long life series. Then I'll swap and put the cheap one back in spare status.
Long life to de bulbs.
Regards,
JimJamz

One of mine is on about the same hours as yours and to tell the truth with the average bulb costing around the £200 price tag ($300) and sometimes more, I'll be doing another upgrade to a new projector that has a bulb life of 6,000 - 8,000 hours. More economical in the long run.

i would like to do this but i like the one i got , and i feel very comfortable with it. it's an old school mitsubishi that cost $2500.00 new. it came with a spare lamp. the original one finally blew after 5 years.(i reset the bulb life twice) now i don't have a backup. for the cost of lamps it's almost cheaper to buy another projector than buy a lamp. (just like printers that cost next to nothing, but the ink is very expensive) i don't like it when a light bulb is a major purchase.
