Topic: New to Mac with VDJ - File Issues

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

When I run VDJ on my PC I never have any problems finding music and video files, however on my Mac I can't find some of the music I may need at the time. I have done the whole procedure on checking the 3 external hard drives and the internal.

This really screwed me up on last Saturday's gig. What am I doing wrong?

Anyone else experience this, just me? lol

Hmm, not using the Mac version. Sorry, can't help you on that one.

Running a Bootcamped W7 version and had zero problems so far.

If you have music rip in different formats some will not show if they are under certain formats. One format I can think of is vma or whatever the name may be. Also some video formats may not show but i don' t remember what format they are in on why they don' t show up under Virtual DJ Mac 6.1.1

WMA is a Microsoft audio format and is not supported on a Mac.

jpboggis, I got you man. about 4 years ago I was a PC user who switched to Mac, so some of my music files were ripped that way under windows. It took me a while before I found out that the universal music format is mp3. I am good now when I need some of those tunes I convert them.

In fact, you can read them with "Flip4Mac".

Download and install it first.
Then in VDJ, add the codec "WMA" and use it with "QuickTime Audio decoder"

Thanx DJCel

videos slow down when i connect my mac to a "40" plasma. virtual dj says the Skin im using is to big or something like that....

Thought this fix was too good to be true.... it doesn't work for me, although I can now SEE the files, they load and say ERROR just like unzipped.
