Topic: need help

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Several things.. I will post the first one here and other problems in consecutive new topics...

I have good friend who is letting me learn on his system before I make the purchase and move over to VDJ.

It is a Windows 7 64 bit system.....

First.....I need to solve the font size problem. Way too small for my 54 year old eyes.

I am using the Turntablist outdoor skin...It is bright enough for me too see on my outdoor gigs.

I do understand how to open the skin .xml file in wordpad and look for the font to change the size, but still can not make the font in the recordcase larger.

Also...I would a skin that is very simple.and BRIGHT...no spinning discs, very little crap on the screen. don't need phasing / flanging buttons etc etc

Simplicity is key for me.... I like the grid to see where to mix the tune or if it is a cold ending song.
Song / Artist title nice and large, Countdown clock nice and large, etc.

Can you point me to a skin like that or help me enlarge the font in the record case?

I too am struggling with seeing the small font size. At 47 yrs old my eyes are really straining. So much so that I am thinking of switching to
TSP due to their white on gray. It is a lot easier on my eyes. I do not want to switch so please tell us how to make the fonts larger in the
record case.

It is not super easy as the skin has to be edited. You can either try the skin editor in the tools section or PM me your email so that can edit the skin for you as there are tons of places to change font size. Just let me know what needs to be bigger.

Also, for DJ Kosmo, check out the RMX controler skin. You don't need an RMX to use itand it is mostly gray with black text. I think I already beefed up the browser font on this one http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/7329/RMX_Mod_Don_Houde.html So that may serve both of your needs unless you really want the bright Day skin.

As for th OP, I would say that skins are infinatly configureable. My inagination and ability to figure it out have been the only limit. If you like the software feel, I would not hesitate to jump in. There is plenty of people willing to help and changing fonts in the XML are very basic as long as you know what you want.

What is the "record case" though? Are you talking about the browser area or the folder tree on the left?
