I'm in the process of building my rig/arsenal. So far so good, phase one (acquire technics) complete. Now I find myself at a fork in the road each leading to a different overal rig setup. So here we go
-Option A.) Numark X7- 4 channel (midi) club mixer w/t VDJ, Technics decks on the phono inputs, 1 korg kp3 kaoss pad for synths/vocals, and one CDJ 400 for use with thumb drive, backup player if laptop fails, and for its amazing effects. I can only imagine unleashing 4 channels of that madness upon the innocent and unsuspecting college kids of my town. There is a CON to this though, I would need a soundcard =/. SL1 would do (so i can still use VDJ).
Option B.) AA VMS4 with techs, CDJ, and Kaoss pad, and no sound card needed. Ability to map extra keys on the VMS4 to whatever i want in VDJ. Like the RMX I LOVE this feature!
Im going to wait till both of these get fully tested before I make my decision. Scratching is very important to me, and thats my main problem with the Hercules RMX. The crossfader is non replacable, breaks easy, and is overall poor in my mind.
So what do you say VDJ community? Thoughts? Comments? As always take it easy and much love!

You bring up a valid point. In all of the excitement of the the release of the AA VSM4 I have total forgotten about the crossfader!!! Gotta do some more research my friend, ill be back!!

I would go with the NUMARK over the American Audio; Unless price is a major factor with you.
The reason being; I have a couple of numark and american audio products, the numark stuff has held up better over the long run; My AA mixer I've replaced the Crossfader already and I'm not a scratch DJ.
Mind you both are very easy to replace.

This is a plus, looks like that upgrade will run $120, but who knows maybe the stock fader will be good. I think at this point I am leaning towards the X7. I dont have a real mixer and I already have a midi controller (The RMX). VMS4 looks awesome, If my hercules ever goes out I am gonna spring for it for sure!
