Started up my computer at the beginning oif my gig tonight and low and behold, all my BPM's for all my music were gone. I havn't had this happen in years. The only thing that I think could have done this, is that I got a message saying that drive G (external drive with the music on it)was corrupted and needed to be scanned or fixed. I scanned it and didn't get any error messages and then fixed it and got a message saying everything was optimized. I checked the documents/VDJ folder on my desktop and the VDJ XML file was still there, so what happened to my BPM's and cue points? I have to scan everything all over again.

First thing I did was goto Desktop/documents/virtualdj and found the XML file, right where it should be.

There may be one there...just not the right one. As soon as you open VDJ it creates a database file if there is not one. And that would explain why you had no bpms. Nothing had been indexed in the new db file. So the question is...where did you db go? What date does hat db file show as far as when it was created or modified?

if you are using an external hard drive.. or if you have your drive partitioned....the one in my documents may not be the one that you should be interested in at all. Go to the root of your music drive and you should see "Virtualdj Local Database vX - (well assuming that you are using VDJ 5.0 upwards )
Chances are that your xml file probably got messed up... hope you have a copy of that database file. .because it could mean that you lost your settings....
Always remember to copy your database and put somewhere safe.
look a the size of our database file.... if it is only a few kbs then you may have been toasted

Thanks for the info about the XML file actually being on the external harddrive itself. I will go set up my system and check.
