I have been asked to do a karaoke party, they have the unit, can i connect a karaoke unit to an RMX console along with the speakers?

Yes you can via one of the external inputs - make sure you are in ASIO mode for the source button to work!
Remember though, the unit will be running standalone. You won't be using VDJ and you will need the karaoke discs for the machine.
Alternatively, RIP the karaoke CD's to your PC using MP3+G Toolz, plug an external screen in to your laptop or the lyrics and their speakers in to your RMX. Then you can use VDJ for the music & karaoke.

mate as gadgetman said.you wont believe how easy karaoke is on a hd.
now i plug in hd and go.only need to add to db once and its there next gig.no more discs/scratches ect.
but a word of warning always buy two same hds and back it up
