Topic: Hum When Using Video

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

When I plug in my Mini Port HDMI adapter I get a loud hum through my system. When I unplug it the humming stops. Anyone experience this before?

this happens to me at the club i play at to solve it I useed a car audio noise choke on the output (modified for 1/4 of course) it happens because the tv is ground looping if you plug the mac into the same circut it will probably go away.
 
Thanks dude, that was it! I plugged my karaoke/music video monitor into the same circuit and viola!
