Does anyone know why the text effect is not available in the mac version of VDJ?

From what I understand about the effects is that they are made by users, not VDJ. So I'm assuming that if a plugin is made for a PC that tells me that the creator didnt have access to a MAC so he or she couldnt make it for a MAC as well. I think thats how it works, anyone care to chime in??

The real reason is OpenGL doesn't offer a direct way to draw Text. You have to use third party code for that (for example "GLUT" or something more advanced based on "FreeType2" like "FTGL").
