Topic: Serato SL+Denon HC4500 VS. VDJ+Denon HC4500

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I tested my friend's SL3 box with my denon controller since it's one of the Serato's "approved USB controller" to see how it works and I have to say that I'm not impressed. VDJ works much better with this particular controller. Anyone has different opinion on this?

The HC-4500 is excellent with VDJ and fully custom mappable. One of the best controller and software combos available.

In my opinion.. Serato is more responsive with the Hc4500. I had one and used it for a year.... when i was using it with virtual dj, Songs jumped when i pressed play. I go back to cue and press play again and it would be fine. It was on and off. If i move the pitch, the pitch seconds later responded. With serato, i just plugged it in and it was working fine without making any adjustments. You could clearly see the difference in responce.

I know it's not really made for scratching but one of the things I found is that it was easier to scratch with VDJ.

I have used a Denon DN-HC4500 for years and have never experienced any of the problems mentioned above with it. It works flawlessly with instant response.

NOTE: The SL3 cannot currently be used with VirtualDJ or any other 3rd party software - The manufacturer has not released any standard drivers for it yet to make this possible. The SL1 is supported under Windows only.
