Topic: Skin Files unzip during download?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I didn't understand at first that downloaded skins must be unzipped when put into the skins folder. I can't seem to get Safari or firefox to download without unzipping. As soon as the download starts I can see .Exe at the end of the file.

I'm using an imac with snow leopard. When I used an older mac with Panther I was able to tweak Safari's preferences to get zipped files to download without uncompressing.

Anyone else have this problem, and a solution?

Try to turn off "Open safe files after downloading" in Safari preferences.
 
It was already unchecked which has me baffled.
