If you read the DMXis manual (like I just did) then it explains how DMXis works as a VST plugin.
They specifically mention DAW software (Cubase, Ableton Live etc.) and say that you have to create a MIDI track in the DAW s/w and place MIDI notes on it, which then trigger DMXis. You can't do that with VDJ.

Whilst it's not directly something we support maybe you could by way of MIDI definition.

Well ...... I wish to thank those of you who contributed with answers, you have no idea on how much I appreciate it . I was told about Ableton etc , however, when I asked if I needed to purchase this as well ( and I quite willing to ) I was told I didn't need to.i as told, just install, place the .dll file in the plugin folder and bangooo, there it is l just active and off I go ???? Not quite so heyyyy. Ripped off again ??? You know, sometimes it's no wonder that people make cracks for program to work normally, at least if it works, then you'll can get the purchase version !!!! Oh we'll ripped off again.

Not necessarily. Like I said before, if DMXis can run from a MIDI clock input (check the manual) then you can send MIDI clock from VDJ out via LoopBe to DMXis and sync it that way.

Groovindj you are obviously a very knowledgable person. For me to create what your advise is, and, even though I'm not so computer illiterate, I would still need time to study up on what your talking about. Then putting it all together would certainly take some time for it to all happen. I have the new lights, I perform at shows now, I have a great deal on my plate with family stuff and don't really have time to study up. Im extremely green to this area and to be honest with the direction you mention I need to take with midi output etc, I wouldn't know where to start. This is why when I was told to just install the software, a couple of small tweaks and its done, was quite attractive. With today's technology it doesn't need to be that difficult. If I had specific step by step instructions, there'd be no problem. Anyway I wish to thank you and automix for putting it straight. What I should have done is purchase the DMX interface, found a cracked version of Enttec software to make sure it all worked. Once I found it all worked, I would purchase the software. I found venue magic on YouTube working within VDJ, looks good, but, damn its so franking expensive.

Oh by the way, at first I had no manual, I communicated with streetwater via email. However,,even if I had the manual, being new and green to this area, I wouldn't have known it wouldn't have worked.

Does anyone know if freestyler works within VDJ ? Can you program songs with it and playing what was saved without getting out of VDJ ?

It works. Have a look at this topic: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/137181/VirtualDJ_Plugins/SBDJ_FreeStyler.html
