Topic: Denon 3700 turntable use problem

I have a problem that I need some help with. Earlier, I couldn't get my 3700's working correctly with VDJ and the support team here was on it quickly, gave the right fix and that problem is fixed.

My new problem is as follows. I have both 3700's hooked up and working fine. Can use all the features, mix music and such. However, when I break in to using the 3700's like turntables and start scratching and cutting like I use to do with vinyl, the player I am manipulating freezes. There is no way to recover. Virtual DJ won't shut down, and I have to do a hard reboot. I am not activating or deactivating vinyl mode. I am just keeping it in vinyl mode all the time and manipulating the current song. (sample, scratch, cut)

I am running a dual core processor Vista machine.
Have 70gig free hard drive of 140 gig.
Memory I think is 1 or 2 gig

Latest ASIO driver, latest firmware, latest VDJ version...alll updated.
Units are set up per VDJ's post on how to set up. Units are set to factory settings with the exception of jog sen -10.

Any advice, or point in the right direction would be appreciated.

I may just do a trial and error type of fix. My gut tells me that it is the computer. It is running Vista. Strike one. It has had minor issues with other programs, Strike 2. Just ran the Memory checker utility and it came back with errors. Strike 3.

Anybody want to point me in the direction of a good name brand computer to use. I know the min recommendations...just what do you guys use out there that seems to work with the 3700's and VDJ.

Kevin, good move on getting a new computer.

Powerhouse Intel Chips are good
Anything over 2GB of memory is good
Win7 is good
 
That's so right,I have issue with vista and my denon 3700,i had to upgrade to window 7 32 bit,I have 2.66ghz duo core processor,2gb of memory and i am doing fine.I had a little problem with search(it makes my screen freeze a little and i cant do anything) but what i did is to make more smaller folders on my external drive

What do you use as a mixer, I've just purchased the Denon DN S3700 x 2 and really keen on VDJ 6. Your advised would be muchly appreciated.
