Hi guys,
I am completely new at this game and need everyones expertize.
I brought a behringer 2000 mixer, got it home and couldn't get it to work with VDJ for the life of me. Read some posts and realised that its not the best mixer for VDJ. So I'm now looking to sell it and get either a numark total or hercules RMX.
Like I said I'm new to this game so I want something that is easy to set up....plug and play would be great.
Which dj controller should i be looking to get? Please dont just give me names of mixers please give me a reason why I should buy it or why I shouldn't buy it.
Thanks

It all depends how much you want to spend. The hercules rmx is more expensive than the Total control although the rmx does have a built in sound card so if you was to go with the total control then you would have to purchase a sound card like the numark dj io.
One other thing numark total control no longer ships with virtual dj le in comes with traktor now and does not come with the cue/virtual dj skin.
So i would try and get a second hand total control with the cue/virtual dj skin as this will make things easier for you as what you see in virtual dj is how it is layed out on the cue skin.
I started out with the total control and it served me well. For the price i got it for i cant knock it at all

Behringer been not a great brand doesn't have anything to do with Virtual DJ not working on it. For a begginer that mixer is fine.
Are you able to get other sources to play thru the mixer, like a microphone or and ipod?, are you geeting audio from virtual DJ in the computer speakers?
Please be more specific to be able to give you better advice.

I started out with Total Control tonly to get rid of it. it is trash. The RMX is the best for all my needs. For about $50 or $60 more, it's a good deal.

I use the Vestax VCI-100. It's a midi controller only, so you'd need to get a sound card. But it feels solid, tables glide really smooth, it works as soon as you plug it in, and it's easy to mod.

i still use my bcd-2000 just had to get a sound card that works with it and use it just for a midi controller (its the sound card in it that seems to be most buggy!) that way i can still mix vids ect

I did a set after a DJ using his Numark controller and when he saw my RMX and how it looks and sounds he got well jealous. He kept asking how things worked and went away grumbling about his Numark!!!
RMX's rule... Even Carl Cox has got one!!! Nuff said.
Glad your with us Miss Mix (we need more girls here)

Tried the bcd 2000 and to be honest wasn't that impressed. Had my RMX for about 8 months now and i can honestly say it's a great piece of kit for vdj. Plus it plugs n plays and does exactly what it says on the tin!

Hercules RMX for me, but I have had issues with it. Once it was pretty unusable as the headphone pre listen was just a lot of crackling noises. I changed my computer from a laptop to a tower and it worked fine. I installed it on all the USB drives on the laptop but to no luck. Soon as I got the tower no problems. I use it pretty much all the time, with and without TCV and it's fine - absolutely no problems,
Also I've used the DJC Mk1 & 2 before the RMX, and I've got to say the RMX is much more superior!
So in answer to your problem Herc-RMX.

the RMX "hon" no doubt ,and in the risk of getting my man"skyfx" pissed (he,he LOL) I was looking at the total control in that it was the big brother of my ion icue but when i added the fact that #a=the RMX its Metal not Plastic ,#b= the Rmx has a sound card built in and #c=Later you can use timecode Vinyl with it and or configure it in diferent ways and all for way less.So I sold the Icue (only had it for a month) and got a used RMX on craigslist.since I had registerd the Ion i got my discount for VDJ Pro which has been the BEST DEAL I've ever Encountered!! O.K.? you might need to Learn how to tweak your system to get it working Right but its "NO SWEAT" plenty of Guys (and 1 Gal who picked it up Rather quickly and now its on internet Radio mixing it up! (Seana Lol!) so you're gonn Roll with DA BEST! have fun!

I would hold off on anything and wait for the new Denon controller which will blow that remix thing out of the water. Might cost a little more but you pay for what you get. Does that remix have touch sensitive jogs?
