I just bought my new 2500 unit. I had the dmc2, and loved it. I also like the denon 2500 except when i connect to midi or pc I loose the denon screen to that hold source for 4 seconds massages. Is there a way to see my players with all the info on it. Like with the dmc2, you see the time, name of the songs all that good stuff. I’d love to be able to see the players on the controller again. Is there a way to do this?

Hi rjd137, sorry, the display is non functional in MIDI mode.
You will just see that static display when operating VDJ or any other app. in MIDI mode.

If you wish to have track name display, time remaining, etc. then you could consider the Denon DN-HC4500 instead.
However, this is a controller for DJ software only and does not have a built-in hard disk like the HD2500. You can link it to a BU4500 CD drawer unit though, which also turns it into a fully functional dual-CD player (Great for a backup.)

Was considering this unit so I decided to rent it first to try it out. Sooooo glad I did that instead of buying! Ran into this useless screen and thought for sure there must be some adjustment I can make in the mapper to make the lcd display the track info and time display. Anyway my search for the ultimate controller continues.

Unfortunately the HD2500 screen is not MIDI enabled.
You should try the Denon HC4500 instead - The displays are fully functional with artist/title, song time and BPM. It can also be linked to a Denon X500 or X900 mixer to allow video crossfading using the real mixer crossfader and fader start.
When linked to the optional BU4500 CD drawer unit, it can also operate as a standard dual-CD player, which is great for a backup.

The more I search the more it looks like HC 4500 will be my final choice. It's good but I am looking for better before forking over the cash. Any other recommendations?...forget about table top controllers, 19 inch or bust.

Other rack-mount options are:
Synq PCM-1 or American Audio DP2 - These do not have text/song info displays, but have more buttons for loops, samples, effects, etc.
Pioneer MEP-7000
Numark DMC-2 if you can find one second hand (No-longer manufactured, and does not have a built-in sound card.)
