I am trying to purchase equipment on a bi-weekly basis as I get paid and I need to make sure my money goes a long way & I purchase the right items.
After buying the Hurcules RMX and then just upgrading to VDJ Pro, what would be the next time you would get? I have no speakers so I was considering getting some powered speakers next then maybe some lighting? What would you do?

I would say a Korg nanoKontrol for your effects, here check it out, http://www.djtechtools.com/2008/11/23/korg-nano-reviews/. There are 3 different kinds, I've only used the Kontrol and it is badass!! It has 4 different secnes which means you can map 1 just for video effect, the other just for samples, the other just for sound effects, you get the picture, lol! Anyways check em out.

i would just go for the necesary items right now(decent speakers,decent headphones...)
i mean that's what you need...
having more effects is always nice,but i suggest you get the very necesary first and the luxuary next :)
also,check if you can use the nano effect controllers(on the vdj forum)
i could be mistaken but i thought with the rmx you could only put the effects on the active deck(via the master)
but check it out first will ya,i could be mistaken :)

Yeah I never thought about that cause I'm not a moblie dj so I dont need sound. But with the Nano's you can map them to work with either channel, deck 1 effect active or deck 2 effect active. Unless theres some limitations that I dont know about but I doubt that cause its pretty powerful.

Don't forget quality cables, its something many people neglect.
Maybe an ipod or cd player for a backup. Computer upgrades, if any are needed. And if you have to, save your money longer for a good set of speakers, its worth it in the long run.
