'Continuous mode' in VirtualDJ is automix (The button on the HC4500 toggles this on/off) - To use it, you will need to load appropriate songs into your playlist. See page 15 of the user manual for further details: http://www.virtualdj.com/images/pdf/VirtualDJ6-UserGuide.pdf

The outer circle of the vinyl indicator is used to indicate whether the controller is in jogwheel (Pitch bend only) mode or vinyl (Touch sensitive) scratch mode. If it's missing, then your controller is in jogwheel mode. Press the JOG MODE button to toggle.

The sound glitch will be caused by performance issues with your computer.

First, please ensure that you have the latest firmware from Denon installed on your HC4500: http://www.denondj.com/firmware.aspx?ProductId=80

Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4094/Common_performance_issues_and_solutions.html for other common causes of performance issues and their solutions.
