I'm using Hercules rmx, I upgraded to Win7 but am also having this problem in the Windows XP virtual pc ability that comes with win7. It used to work fine in regular xp. I open up the Hercules DJ console form the little icon in the task bar, I try to set the AISO setting to 48,000 hz and 288 (6ms) (pretty sure that's what worked before) then when I open up VDJ LE, (I'm using the hyper basic VDJ LE that came with the controller), The ASIO settings reset to 44,100hz and and 960(21 ms) which is way to low and it skips like mad. I tried installing everything in the virtual XP environment that you can setup with win7 but I'm getting the same thing.
Drivin' me nuts, any ideas?

Hello Blakeyo,
1) You should register on VirtualDJ website with your VirtualDJ 5 DJC serial number (click on Modify my profile button and fill the Licenses field with the serial number written on your CD enveloppe). It would let you download VirtualDJ 5.2.2 DJC, in case the version in your PC is older. VirtualDJ 5.2.2 DJC has a few more functions than the older VirtualDJ 5 DJC releases (and fixes some bug).
2) It is normal that VirtualDJ switches back the Rmx ASIO settings into 44.1KHz as it is the same resolution engine, so rather than converting the ASIO from 48KHz to 44.1KHz, VirtualDJ automatically switches the ASIO resolution to 44.1KHz on DJ Console Rmx, whether you want it or not. What you can do is set the ASIO buffer size in 44.1KHz before running VirtualDJ, and VirtualDJ won't change it.
I don't know how is set your particular PC but it doesn't seem illogical that VirtualDJ CPU occupation is less optimized in a virtual XP environment than in a Windows 7 environnement. Why don't you use VirtualDJ + Rmx in Windows 7 standard mode, instead of a Windows XP emulation?

I've tried VDJ 5 and dind't like it. This VDJ LE is super basic, it came with the controller, and always worked fine before in XP. I'm just trying to get beat matching and some simple looping for now.
The main reason I tried using it in the XP environment is because it does the same thing in Win7. I change the ASIO setting to 48hz and when I open up VDJ LE, it sets them back to 41hz and the audio skips, stutters, pops, etc. That's exactly what it used to do in XP but the work around I found was to switch it to 48hz and the adjust the buffer until it stopped skipping.
I swear it used to stay at 48hz in Windows XP

Hello Blakeyo,
I don't know which version of VirtualDJ LE you have, but if it is the software which comes bundled in DJ Console Rmx packaging, then it is VirtualDJ 5 DJC, that is why I ask you to update to VirtualDJ version to VirtualDJ 5.2.2 DJC, it IS VirtualDJ LE, and it is a version which is well supported in Windows 7.
Enclosed is the menu you get when you click on the button labelled MORE on the skin, you can read it is version 5.2.2.
