Topic: windows 7 64bit and mk2 driver problems

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I installed the new drivers on windows 7 (64bit). initially didn't work then I read somewhere not to connect device when instructed but do it afterwards. Did this and in installed the firmware updates etc. Thought it would work then - no red cross in through the DJ emblem in task bar. However it is still not working for audio as if device is not connected, will not play test tone etc. Any ideas.

It seems as though it's being recognised when pluged in, red cross goes away, I can open hercules control panel. All lights come on then just 2 green audio source lights come on.

You mean you have no audio in Virtual DJ or other applications?

DId you install the latest version of VDJ LE Mk2 (v3.4.1) , which is necessary for Windows 7/Vista ?

What test tones are you refering to?

Hi DJ Phatso, thanks for response, forgot to check here been busy trying to get my other hardware to work with windows 7. Still have this problem.

not sure if I had the upto date version of virtual dj but I do now. Virtual DJ won't open says 'direct X sound driver error' I can open hercules control panel and select it as default sound card in control panel/sounds but when I click play test tones it says 'device failed to paly test tones' immediately and there is no audio in any other applications.

cheers

Be sure that ASIO is not selected as audio mode in the control panel. ASIO is only supported by music applications such as Virtual DJ.

Standard Windows applications can only use WDM.

Also try starting VDJ when in WDM.

I appear to already be in WDM mode. control panel still recognises mk2 but VDJ still giving error message and still not working as soundcard/audio output. Everybody else who's had problems with windows 7 seems to be ok when device recognised and control panel will open so I have no idea.

When I installed it on XP VDJ and general sound card functions all worked straight away.
