No, it depends on the quality of the video files you play (shit in, shit out ;).
If you use .VOB DVD files, you will get a full DVD quality and resolution.
If you use .VOB DVD files, you will get a full DVD quality and resolution.

Some systems can't use .vob or mpeg2 because their pc's video card can't handle hardware acceleration. so vob's will freeze vdj
