Topic: Polyfill Or Fiber Glass for speaker insulation

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I wanted to know which one is better to use for speaker insulation. Polyfill or Fiber Glass. Fiber glass itches but i dont know if small particles will come out thru the speaker vents and make everyone itch.

try using polystyrene, tons better and it doesnt break up. or use egg trays works wonders for sound proofing anything you like. including the attic so the missus doesnt get so pissed off. :D

or you can use sponge though it doesnt lef anything breathe too well in my opinion. i wouldnt use fiberglass... last thing you want is fiberglas spores in your punters eyes or someone being allergic to it.

I found something already. Im using some type of insulation that Peavey uses for its new model speakers. 3.99 a yard. The Color is white.

sweet.
