Ok, I ended up getting the audio 2dj soundcard. My first problem is in the fact that when I am on channel A on my mixer, I can very faintly hear channel B bleeding into my live mix, not extremely loud but loud enough I notice. I am using 2 tapco thumps on a Y jack in one channel and my headphones in the other. Is this a result of splitting in such a manner, would I gain anything by using a jumper cable and plugging in a single speaker then daisy chaining to the other or will this not produce stereo sound?
The next question/problem I have is at the time I didnt think I needed to have a microphone, if my bleeding sound problem can be corrected can I add a second card just for microphone?
Also, if I want to put my unremixed tracks in itunes will this work with my speakers? I havent tested with my current settup, I just remember last time I tried I couldnt get any sound from itunes. I prefer to keep these tracks out of vdj since i primarily use vdj for live mixing I dont really like the idea of adding thousands of extra songs into my search able library

Hello djmatteo2,
1) Can you update
- your VirtualDJ 5 version (go to VirtualDJ download center, and download VirtualDJ 5.2.2 DJC)
- your DJ Console series driver version (currently 2009_HDJS_4)
to make sure your issue of slighly hearing deck B while you are on Deck A is not just the result of a not up to date VirtualDJ or driver version?
2) If you add a standard sound card with a microphone input, it will not give you a talk-over feature (the way to talk over the music), but you can talk over the music in connecting a small analog mixer between the mix output of your Audio2DJ and the speakers.
With an analog mixer as Xenyx 502 http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-Xenyx-502-Mixer-103846200-i1153498.gc , you can:
- connect the mix output of your Audio2DJ to the mixer Xenyx 502 input 2-3
- connect the microphone on the mixer Xenyx 502 input 1
- Connect your Tapco speakers on Xenyx outputs
and use Xenyx rotary button for channel 1 to activate/mute/equalize your microphone input mixed over the music.

I have VDJ Pro, I upgraded shortly after getting the console. It does say there is a newer version now that I have yet to download, but its still a 6.X version. I just assumed using a Y jack wasnt the best way to run the speakers. I will however update and try again.

Approaching my next gig and a thought came to mind. Will my old denon dn-x100 mixer work as a analog mixer to use a microphone?
Edit:Still looking for possible all in 1 solutions, or other options as opposed to dragging around extra equipment.
Edit2:Just saw the deejay trim card, more money than I want to spend but it has the mic input. Will this work, or is there a cheaper version that will work for me?

Hello djmatteo2,
Yes, if you connect
- headphones to Audio2DJ headphones out,
- your Audio 2 DJ speaker output to Denon DN-X100 mixer,
- microphone to the mic input on DN-X100,
- speakers to DN-X100 speaker out
then you can use DN-X100 microphone control to talk over the music in your microphone. You will hear your voice in the speakers
The cheaper audio interface with microphone talk-over function is Numark DJ IO, but if you already have Audio2DJ, I think you will find Audio 2 DJ audio quality is better. Of course, DeeJay TRIM 4&6 audio interface also provides the talk-over function you want with the microphone input, but if you have no use for DeeJay TRIM 4&6 audio inputs while you already own an Audio2DJ, it is not worth buying DeeJay TRIM 4&6.
