Has anyone tried the new Macbook Pro line with VDJ? I am really curious to see how the 15inch i5 performs with VDJ video? Also curious to see how the entry level 13in Pro with the new graphics card fairs? Can it get by doing video?
Just more or less curious...I don't have the dime to spend on another machine right now but wanted to see if anyone has bought a new system since the release yesterday?

this update looks pretty sweet but missing usb3 i really feel like i can't justify a new machine yet, the 17 inch is the best deal of the bunch.

Well I bought the 17" a couple of months ago ... and apart from the new processor and slightly better graphics there is not much there. Wouldn't think there would be too much increase in performance, especially with VDJ.
USB3 should have been included but you know what Apple are like ........ ipad is flavour of the month just now!

nvidia has been doing this crap for the past 2 years the graphics aren't really that much better. The 330M is a rebranded 240M. The 330M is about twice the speed of a 9600M GT. The 320M is pretty much the same performance as the 9600M GT basically I think what you are getting here is just the i5 and i7 and on the 13 you arn't even getting that. I'm not very happy about the update there is still no blue ray and no industry standard hdmi port and is far as i know there is no way without using more then one adapter to get there.

I have a mini displayport to HDMI adapter. Granted it isn't an official apple one but it does the trick here

There are major audio issues with the I7 processor... And my post on the subject here at VDJ or going unanswered, so im guessing there not enough people having the problem yet for anyone to consider looking into it... I dont know, but its pretty frustrating...
The issue seems to be a VDJ problem, because when updating Sarato's Itch the problem was cleared right away...

well it's not just vdj, I've read a lot of more apple specific issues on the i7 also with midi as well as audio a quick trip of googling will show you a lot of bad stuff is going on with the new macs I hope they do fix it soon. From what I hear 10.6.4 will solve a lot problems lets hope so.
