Topic: question about hub.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey everyone,

Just a question. I just bought a new laptop that
Only has 2 usb ports. I'm going to be using this
Only with my ns7. But I was thinking if I wanted
To use this with my icdx, I would need 3 ports.
Does any one have any experience using
Powered usb hubs? Is it safe?

Thanks.

I use a hub for my mouse, my EXT HD, my Korg nanopad and a little USB light. Everything seems to work fine.

have you ever tried plugging in your sound card or midi controller to it?

Powered hubs are all good! Remember, though, if you mix usb 1.0 and 2.0 on a hub everything will run at 1.0 speed.

so it would be safe to plug my sound card and midi controller into one?

Sorry, I've never tried it that way.

I use a 7 port hub to run my Pioneer CDJ-400s, USB MIDI Sport Uno, external hard drives, USB wireless optical mouse and USB keyboard. I use this hub on either my MacBook Pro or my PC laptop. I never have any issues and have been using it for about a year.

thanks man for the answer rude dogggggggggggggggg

I generally connect to my MacBook a D-Link 7-port USB-2 powered USB hub (with its power adapter), on which I connect
- my DJ Console Rmx,
- an external hard drive,
- a USB key,
and I didn't notice any negative difference with a direct connection to the MacBook USB port.
