hello, i believe i mentioned this elsewhere in this forum...
but i am starting this thread cause im not really sure where the issue lies...
the issue im having is that while i am playing music on VDJ and i start a web browser on top of it or use a web browser, it will cause the audio to crackle and pop
ive used the DPC Latency tool that ive found in one of the stickys on top of this forum and it stays green until i open up or use a web browser, then i will see some red bars pop up
and the problem seems more pronounced if i use IE
not really sure whats going on...
and its kinda important to me to figure this out since i do use my program to stream online with...
btw, my listeners hear my music skipping around when this happens....
so any suggestions would help greatly...
here are some specs on the laptop i use:
Operating System: Windows Vistaâ„¢ Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2 (6002.vistasp2_gdr.091208-0542)

You're obvisuly applying stress somewhere...
Are you connected to the net using WiFi or Ethernet? I ask as it could be the WiFi adapator causing the spikes.
Other than that you just need to track down what process is causing the spikes. Could even by your firewall or A/V if it is intercepting your IE traffic. Most security software these days will run the URL passed a blacklist to see if it is safe, it'll even interject in to your search page results to tell you if the URL is safe.
All these additional processes will put stress somewhere on your system.
Options:
1. Go through these proceses 1 by 1 and finding out which is causing the issue and then shut it down while your working
2. Install GameBooster from http://www.iobit.com. Run this before starting VDJ and it will shutdown unnecessary processes. Then check to make sure you can still do what you need to with regards to streaming
3. Adjust the performance of VDJ down the scale to see if you can find a happy medium between quality and performance and thus freeing system resources for other tasks.
Good luck,
Roy

thanks for the reply....
guess its my AV and firewall then?
im connecting to the net with my ethernet cable...
and i went through the process of disabling devices via the device manager....
my wifi adaptor is disabled, with a lot of other stuff im not using
and i do use the game booster, that tool really does help a lot...
not really sure where i should adjust the performance of VDJ tho...
i have beatlock turned on manual cause otherwise it would eat up my cpu usage
not sure what else i need to change.....

actually i did some looking around the site and think i found the answer to this:
I am getting pops, crackles, and clicks in my sound.
Your performance settings may be set to a value greater than your hardware is able to utilize. Because you are most likely using an ASIO sound card - please set your performance settings under CONFIG -> Performance tab to the following:
Slide the fader all the way to the left, then on position to the right of Fastest.
Change the Latency drop down to AUTO
Uncheck SafeMode and Overclock.
Leave all other settings unchanged.
well i did this and now i dont hear crackling when im running a web browser on top of vdj woohooo
now i just gotta make sure it sounds ok on the receiving end of my stream...
EDIT:
checked it and everything sounds good :)
