Has anyone had any succes with mapping any fuctions for the numark NDX800?

YES!

It took about an hour to get all the functions I wanted. I found it easiest to use the "Auto-Learn" option.

The only thing I could not get to work the way I would like is the platter (to scratch with) but I believe this is more a limition of MIDI itself. MIDI was created to be used with buttons.

The only other thing is that even though I have TWO NDX800's hooked up, Virtual DJ recogniizes them as ONE controller. Does anybody know how to have VDJ recognize them as two separate controllers?

BTW the NDX800's are AMAZING! I can't believe how good they are. Think Pioneer 800s with MIDI contoll, USB and thumb/flash drive connections and more effects AND the platter has GREAT control for scratching.

2 Numark NDX800, 2 Technic 1200 MKII, Behringer DJX750, Total Control, Toshiba 4 GB Centrino 300 GB HD, Virtual DJ, Sony Acid Pro 6, (does not include speakers, lights, etc)

The platters work very well with the proper definition file. The SimpleMIDIMapper is just a way to get some basics from a device. Once the official definition and mapping is released then you will gain a lot more functionality out of the controller.

so far in cd mode the ndx 800 works great. I also cant get vdj to recognize two separate ndx800. as for the platter, i manage to recognize as a jogwheel in cd mode and still trying to get it to work in scratch mode.....will send pms of script when i can.

Virtual DJ just keeps getting better. I really hope you guys can enable the scratch function in the NDX800's. More people are moving to MIDI and this will push VDJ even further as the software of choice.

Hi ,

I'm considering to buy 2 decks numark ndx800 and i have a few questions for you if you don't mind.

- the new version of virtual dj is it ok with ndx 800 does VDJ recognize the 2 decks ??...or only one ?....
what am i loosing if virtual dj recognize only 1 deck ??

- how's the sound quality with the numark ndx 800....i saw a post and a guy telling the sound is cheap...not very good

- i don't see any plug to link the 2 decks to each other.....i suppose i need to plus each deck to my laptop via USB/midi ??....and connect each deck to my mixer ???

- what doesn't work with VDJ ??

- are you still happy with the ndx 800 ??

many thanks for your reply

Marty

Question1: the new version 6.07 still does not recognize them. they are currently in the works to support these controllers...hopefully soon!! So it still just only recognize as one

Question2: In my opinion, the sound quality is great! The other guy may have other factors influencing his opinion.

Question3: u do need to connect each deck to ur comp.usb cables included. I recommend u get a multiport usb hub. However there is a relay function, where a track ends on deck1 then it plays the next track from deck2 and it alternates. Relay cable not included tho....booo...

Question4: the only thing that doesnt work with vdj is the jogwheel functions(scratching, joggin thru tracks) and to recognize two separate decks. All the other functions can be "easy learned".

Question5: I am satisfied with it as a cd player, but i will be extremely satisfied when they finish the mapper for it!!! cause that was my main purpose for it!!!!

Notes: I rate the quality of the scratch mode to be little above fair. These decks are not recommended for the serious scratchers out ther. These were not really designed for scratching. I recommend getting the V7s or even the Dennon 3700s for scratching, but still nothing beats some technics and vinyl!!!!

hi.....

I just want to get the music from my computer to play them in both ndx 800 decks.... how can i do that?
do i need to connect both of them? or what do I need to do?
