Topic: Using Virtual dj and Hercules Deejay Trim

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello,
I am relatively new to deejaying. I currently dj hiphop and alot of reggae. Ive been using Vdj and playing internally, however i am playing alot more at clubs and the internal sound card is not able to keep the quality together. I bought the hercules deejay trim an I would like to start using it and also using Cd timecodes to play externally. If possible could someone help me to understand and/or do the setup to connect the deejay trim to virtual dj and what internal settings must i do? Also if possible i would really appreciate feedback from anyone with experience using virtual dj with external cd mixers connected by the hercules deejay trim. Than you.

The Trim user manual would be the first place to start. It describe how the connections should be made and make basic configurations. If you bought the Trim without VDJ, you can get the manual here:

ftp://ftp.hercules.com/sound/manuals/Trim/vdjLE/01_VirtualDJ%206%20LE%20TC_English.pdf

As far as timecode configuration is concerned, check out the Wiki:

http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/TimeCode%20Config.html

Please bear in mind that timecode is limited in the trial and will stop working after 10-15 minutes of use until you restart VDJ.

Before playing live, you will need to purchase VirtualDJ Pro: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
