Topic: Virtual DJ And Windows 7 freezing

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hello!
What is the best version of VDJ to run with Windows 7. I'm still having problems with VDJ freezing.
I have Virtual DJ 5.2.2 and am running it with my Hercules RMX controller with Windows 7, new laptop, 4GB ram. Virtual DJ freezes about every 3-4 songs, when I load up another song. Once it freezes I wait it out til the song ends, have my iPod on back up, shut down Virtual DJ and start it up again, play another 3-4 songs and have to repeat this process for 5 hours. VERY FRUSTRATING.

I have updated my hercules driver on their site, but this did not help. I can't downgrade to XP on my new laptop because there are no XP drivers available for that model, so that's not a possibility.

Who is using Windows 7? and what version of VDJ are you using with no problems?

I'm about to go out and purchase a new laptop with XP, but am hoping it doesn't come to that.

I have tried everything I can think of...HELP! THanks!

Also, my virtual DJ CD came with my Hercules RMX, and every time I try to register it, it says the serial # is not valid. How is that possible?

Let me ask You this? Does your Windows 7 have the compatibilty feature to where you can run a program in another OS such as vista or xp?

I had 7 on my laptop updated al my drivers and what not and it still ran like crap with 7?? Did the latency checker all was good but when I tried to run video's CRAP!!! So I went back to XP and am using the Latest version of VDJ and runs Great!! Btw what namebrand of laptop do you have? I have a Toshiba Satellite... Dont know if any other people on here are experiencing the samw problem with a toshiba satellite??
btw the lappy originally came with vista....

im running windows 7 with vdj and i dont have any issues

If you have 4gb RAM does that mean you're running the 64bit version of Windows 7?

It runs great for me on 32bit.

Having issues with video running on Windows 7 64-bit. Audio seems to work perfectly though. Running i7 Core 1.8Ghz w/ 6gb RAM.
Seems as though CORE 3 is running most of the processor load and is causing the issues with video when I look at the breakdown by cores.

I plan on tweaking things with the registry tool tonight to see if that helps. I'll report back if I find a solution.

First, you are PRO User and so i guess you should use your PRO Version.
Located at your personal Download Center.

Did you already have installed the latest Hercules RMX driver?

Maybe also your Soundcard setting or your performance setting is not that best.
It is better to use ASIO and the performance slider on max. the second position from the left.

I can see your RMX in your Avatar, so it is already done :-)

For the others with their Video problems with W7
In most cases it is the combination between W7 and the used video card.

I also use W7 and some video problems, but not like that i can't do soem video gigs.

Have a look here guys, maybe it helps.
