Topic: considering purchasing the virtual dj software HELP PLEASE

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I'm an amateur who loves music and have an eclectic library. My bday is coming up and I really would like to utililze a playlist that I have from my own library without lapses between songs and a good flow of all the tunes. I have ???s i'm hoping you guys can answer:

1. Do I have to keep computer on?
2. Can I plug my playlist into the dj software, have software arrange based on beats, songs, etc save that playlist and put it back on my ipod?
3. I don't have all the DJ equipment you guys have. I have a home sound system with ipod dock. If necessary, how can I add speakers to my computer so that the sound is blasting and i will have that surround sound in my home at my party?

Yes I'm still learning so any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I don't want to spend money on software I will not be able to use if I don't have DJ equipment to appreciate it. I'm hoping that a "virgin DJ" such as myself can utilize a good system for my music and make this party and future ones the best!

1. Do I have to keep computer on? Would it work otherwise?, I would say yes to this.

2. Can I plug my playlist into the dj software, have software arrange based on beats, songs, etc save that playlist and put it back on my ipod? This one I am not to sure about, I don't own an ipod

3. I don't have all the DJ equipment you guys have. I have a home sound system with ipod dock. If necessary, how can I add speakers to my computer so that the sound is blasting and i will have that surround sound in my home at my party? You can put the 1/8" plug into the headphone jack of the computer, or where you would hook up speakers, the sound card.

I gave my best for what I understand that you are trying to do, and don't worry the software does kick ass. lol
