I tried out the Mixdeck very quickly at my local DJ retailer and all I can tell you is that my first impression is it sucks. I played with it for like 2 minutes which was long enough to discover that if you set the slope of the crossfader's slope switch to a sharp curve you can hear an audible 'pop' every time you move the crossfader across the cut-in point. Then I put the platter into scratch mode and tried to do a couple of scratches only to find that the platter would only intermittently react properly, but the rest of time it would just pitch bend. In other words scratching would just cause the track to sound 'warble-ee'. Because I know the platter is touch sensitive, I made sure to ground myself by touching something metal, but still no change. Also, I plugged in my iPhone 3G and the Mixdeck wouldn't recognize it.. So in short, after messing around with it for only 2 minutes I realized the platters don't work in scratch mode, the crossfader is faulty and the iPod dock doesn't recognize my iPhone. Who knows what else I would have found wrong with it had I played with it longer. Perhaps the crossfader was causing pops and the platter wouldn't work properly in scratch mode because the unit wasn't plugged into a power conditioner and wasn't properly grounded, but come on, you should be able to plug this unit into a power bar and it should just work. I always plug my gear into a power conditioner, but any gear I've ever owned worked fine when plugged directly into a wall outlet, and so should the Mixdeck. Fail.
