You've asked the same question repeatedly about the ipod touch.
The ipad is exactly the same device, so the same answers apply. Basically itouch midi has mixed results. If the developer ports it to the ipad 1024 x 768 then there's some hope it may possibly work.
At any rate, the ipad is useless. It has a proprietary OS, proprietary connector, no USB and is locked down to death. If you want to wast $500+ on it then go ahead ......
I use two Vaio tablets for remotely controlling VDJ and they're wayyyy better than the ipad.

If you noticed my post above was in February. There are a lot more details available about the ipad now, and it appears it could be possible to use it as a touchscreen remote through RDP or VNC. Using it as a standalone with some sort of DJ app doesn't seem possible at present.
I have already raised this in the Mac forum, but as the ipad isn't out in the UK yet I have no way of testing it.
