I had to bite the bullet in the end and buy a proper set up.... Here it is:



I'm not leaving VDJ totally, but its time to move forward.......

Nice set up Peter. You don't need to leave Virtual DJ at all, you can always try the time-code option, and have the best of both worlds..... ;-)
 
and remember gear doesn't make a DJ.... Nice clean setup!!

The mixer isnt MIDI, thought you'd need a MIDI mixer?

All you need is an ASIO compatible sound card with 4 RCA inputs and 4 RCA outputs. ;-) Have a look at this

I just thought, as the KHD's are just MP3's and not CD's, doubt it'll work?
 
yes with time code mp3 on a memmory stick 100% it works

If I buy the Rane SL 1 card, where do I plug in my Amp? and how much is the Rane SL 1 in £ roughly?
 
Anyone? Where/how would I connect my amp if I did go timecodes....... any ideas?
 
No, Peter, you connect the SL1 box between the players and the mixer. And connect the mixer to your amp, just like normal.
 
Call me stupid here......but I thought if the sound source is from PC (obviously) and as the cdj's arent connected to the mixer (as far as I see in that video), how would my amp get sound........ but I watched the video again, and noticed the sound card only uses the left & right mixer channels...... so yeah, I was being dumb (pun intended)....... its all clear now.......
