Two quick questions here,
Are CDJ 400's compatible with VDJ software?
And where can you buy the USB cords to plug the CDJ's into your computer? (Guitar center didn't give me any...cheap %*)($'s...)

CDJ 400's are natively supported (Plug and play) in the latest version of VirtualDJ http://www.virtualdj.com/download/trial.html - Simply put them into MIDI mode (See the user manual), start VDJ and they should be automatically detected.
USB cables can be purchased from any computer/electronics store or even supermarkets.

Awesome, thanks, do you only need one? Or one for each cd player + the mixer?

To use it with VirtualDJ, yes.
You will need two USB cables (1 for each CD player) and two RCA audio cables (One for each CD player to connect it to your mixer.)
