Are Mac Plugins supported? They don't say if they will work for mac or not. Are only PCs supported by the plugins?

Plugins are supported on a Mac, but not all plugins have a Mac compatible version. A Mac version is only available if the author of the plugin has created one.
Plugins with a Mac compatible version will have a floppy disk download icon with an Apple logo.
Windows only plugins will only have a floppy disk icon with Windows logo.
NOTE: As an unlicensed user, you will not be able to see these icons.

Ok I went to this link here.
http://www.virtualdj.com/addons/effects.html?display=best&order=downloads&search=
There are no icons or floppy whatsoever to tell you what works for mac or not. Please help. I don't want to buy this and find out there is like 5 plugins that work only.

You have to click on the effect and then you'll see the floppy icon. For example click on the "Cut" effect and a new page opens up with a description of the effect as well as a windows and mac icon.

I did, maybe only licensed users see this.

I'm a trial user! lol I'm debating if its worth the $299 or should I consider other DJ Software. Can you estimate how many effects plugin for audio and video are there for the mac?

The following are effects for Mac that I know of:
Cut
Long Brake
Shaker Beats
Forward Reverse
LFO
Pan LFO
Phase Shifter
Wah Wah
Delay
Although the "Brake", "Backspin", or "KeyChanger" don't seem to be available for Mac on the downloads page anymore but I think that may be because 6.5.0 comes pre-loaded with those effects already.

Ooops, sorry, I thought you were only referring to just sound effects. Ya, there are many video effects too.

I'm leaning towards buying VDJ, but is there any coupon codes? $299 isn't cheap. ;)

to Reventon:
get it with a soundcard or controller. it adds an extra $50 to your price for the LE's. you come to this site and input the product u got it with. and the Pro version becomes an extra $50. i just got Hercules Trim 4&6 and got virtual dj w/ it. using serato v2 timecode vinyl. cause it works as well w/ this program. though been tinkering around w/ ver 5.2 and 6.0.1. both are time consuming to setup, since they both crash. and so does the newer version 6.0.5 beta 2 (can't run it since it says it needs 10.5, i'm on 10.4). i'm updating the drivers tomorrow from hercules. and see if this thing works at all. it's really pissing me off since this setup was my present for christmas. and i know it's not the computer (just upgraded sd ram, hdd, and re-installed everything on it w/ plenty of free space for (temp hdd room to run programs (u need roughly 30-45 gb's free) ), vinyl, mixer, or soundcard box but this poorly run program.
anyone know what other programs can use serato v2 vinyl timecode and hercules trim 5&6 on mac. i can't deal with this headache. if this company wanted there customer's saying anything good about there products they would step up there game and fix things so it WORKS!!! or hire people that could make it work.

Darknight
If you are going to tag every single thread in this forum with a critical statement, would you kindly do so using our current trial version and not every cracked version you can find on the internet please?
Its not fair or accurate to make assessments that way.
There have been many things addressed in the current release of Virtual DJ and you are not using our trial version.

Nope sorry dude.. your team has some work to do. I've tried finding a solution to the "invalid skins issue" for weeks.. even called trying to find a solution and nothing. You guys really have some work to do on the mac side of things. All I can use is the trial and now I can't even install plugins on that or get my cheapo hercules mp3 to map in because.. I can't get any plugins to hook onto this thing. Guess I'm going to traktor. Thanks for being mostly useless.

Don't complain about something you haven't paid for.
I paid the full price for VDJ and so I'm allowed to whine.
Atomix Productions is behind the times and will lose more and more market share unless they:
1 - add an easy way to recall a "saved loop" within a song, like all other software do. seriously. i want to goto a cue and auto 2/4/8 loop.
2 - write cues (AND LOOP) info into the mp3's id3 tag. don't write to an annoying XML (external) database files. makes life hard.
3 - for Christ's sake, Atomix should produce a 1680x1050 and 1920x1200 default skin for the 15" and 17" macbook pro users out there. hello?
4 - update the icons for saving the mp3... the Disk icon is so outdated and looks mega cheesy
5 - work on your FX. they're lousy, especially the Macintosh ones. traktor beats serato any day, but even serato makes VDJ fx look like junk.
6 - many, many, MANY DJs use macintosh, so you need to stop treating the Mac userbase as an afterthought
