Hi all,

I'm hearing a light crackling when playing my lpcm vob video files.
The crackling is consistent and becomes very noticeable on parts with long strings (without percussion).
I've read the forum posts about crackling issues, but so far no solution to this particular problem has been posted.
After spending quite some time this is what I've found out so far:

Using:
- Virtualdj 6.0.3 (trial)
- Lpcm vob files (16bit, stereo, 48k, big-endian)
- Default codec: Video Decoder

- Crackling is consistent, the crackling-spikes always occur on the same spot (repeatable)
- Has nothing to do with soundcard or settings (tried different setups: asio, wdm etc)
- Is different from the groundloop hiss (I'm using isolators)
- Has nothing to do with performance or other software settings (quad core/dual core tested, video is very smooth)
- Crackling is present even when video output is disabled
- Is not present in source files (tested with several other programs)
- Is repeatable in vdj 5.2
- Vob's with an mp2 audio track (48k, stereo) have far less crackling (almost none)
- Other video files work fine
- No effects are in use (both audio/video)

Crackling happens before audio output, because:
- a replaced silenced audio track gives no crackling (same size/bitrate etc.)
- can be influenced by vdj internal eq

Which leads me to believe that the default Video Decoder is not working properly for lpcm vob files?
If you know a solution to this particular problem, please let us know.

Regards
