Topic: Needing a quick answer: VDJ LE

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey Virtual DJ people.

Apologies for the double post as I put this up yesterday in the Mac section. I figure it'll get a better response here.

I'm reviewing the Hercules e2 and want to know if keyboard shortcuts are possible in VDJ LE. I've hunted around and can't find an answer, and no amount of keyboard bashing seems to activate anything.

Thanks in advance.

I think the LE version only lets you use the default controller mapping, it's been awhile since I've used it but I know the version that came with my controller wouldn't even start without it plugged in. Can you access the "mappers" tab in the config?

The only thing you can change in the config is the audio output. And as you say, it wouldn't start without the e2 being plugged in anyway.

Such a shame.

My understanding is that it's a very limited version bundled with the console to get them started. I've not seen LE myself, but it's interesting for future reference that it doesn't include keyboard shortcut mapping so thanks for finding out!

It does usually include a temporary full pro trial edition and if they like it then a discounted upgrade option is available at http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html.

The free version thats comes with the console is limited (of course), since its a free version.
So there is no custom mapping options. And since its a FREE version, it also needs the console to be connected to work :)
Its a free version for E2 users only.. that never expires.

But users of the Hercules E2 can upgrade to Pro version of VirtualDJ with a huge discount, if needing/wanting more :)

Thanks for all the help guys. I have my answer now.
