Hi mate

If you have a mixer or a standard hi fi amp you can hook up your turntabe to the mixer or amp and plug the output or rec jacks on the amp to your computers line input and record your vinyl as a wav mp3 or whatever then play the recorded track using VDJ.

There is loads of free software out there to let you do this. Example would be wavsaur.

right now i got my turntables hooked up to my soundcard and then that hooked up to my mixer and my computer. when i play timecodes everything works perfect but heard that if you wanna play regular through VDJ so you could use fx and to record then you need a bypass or something so that the software wont look for a timecoded signal it'll jus play the record

You can play ordinary vinyls through your timecode setup by activating timecode bypass.

To do this, you will need to assign a keyboard or MIDI shortcut to the following action: timecode_bypass

Then simply press the key to toggle it on/off.

I put a RCA splitter on my Turntable Output. Splits the signal to Line and Phono. I plug the line from the soundcard into to the CD or Line section of my mixer. Usually it's next to the Phono input. Then I take the split output and plug into phono. All I need to do is toggle the Phono/Line switch to go back and forth. I loose no timecode signal when I split. Use high gage cables not cheap ones. Passes a better signal.

Hi how did you bypass deck1 and deck2

Thanks

Go into the mapper and hit new, then pick which key you want to use and then type "deck 1 timecode_bypass" do the same for the other deck aswell. "deck 2 timecode_bypass".

This is such a badass feature!!

can this be done for CD'S as well?

Yes, it will also work with timecode CD's.

beatbreaker1 could you be a little more specific on how to make this work? I tried to map 2 keys but it did not work?

am I missing a step? btw i coppied and paste your comand in the action box. could that be the problem?

Superb feature!

Thanks for the topic!

Im using numark dmc2 and you can simply write "timecode_bypass" and asign it to one of the buttons. Numark dmc2 is double deck midi controller so you have the same parameters for both decks.
