I am currently setting up my system to use FreestylerDMX software for my lights and have everything working great except I have discovered that to get the lights to work with the bpm from VDJ I need 2 files.Audiobox? I think and Midiyoke patch.
I found the site for Midiyoke but the Audiobox patch app is no longer active on the site.I am using the NUMARK Dijo sound card.
I seemed to have ran out of search options here about this subject and wondered how anyone else has a worakaround or a working
link to where I can get the needed files.
Appreciate any info.
Kind regards
James

Hi, Lineman,
I'm a Freestyler user too, and I think you are looking in the wrong direction. This is a Freestyler problem and therefor you're in the wrong forum... Freestyler has left the BPM-detection with version 3.xx. There's a new S2L-program available with V3.2 where you can setup a crossover so it will respond to the bass(drum) of a song. It's as close as you can get to BPM-detection.
If you got the programs running on separate PC's you have to connect an output (if not available, use a splitter) to the line-in of the PC running FS. If not, you have to map your audio-out to audio-in (if available with your soundcard) Otherwise you have again to split your audio-out and connect it to audio-in.
I hope this helps you out.
Martin.

Believe it or not I now have it working with the latest ver 3.2.1 with the Numark Djio.I had to reset my pc laptop sound card to default settings
with no other in/out connections and its working pretty well. Not perfect but Im impressed....I did have the audio input on my Alienware connected from my mixer and I thought that did it..until I disconnected it and the beats still worked with Freestyler and the music.
Not bad for a 60$ investment for the Entec USB open and free software.Looking for some Chauvet Minspot LED MOVING yoke lights now.

So it does map internally. Nice!

It doesn't have to be an expensive hobby..... Have fun!

Long time FS user myself.
Please remember what the cost of Light Jockey is and that there are smart people behind this that do not beg or demand donations.
Take it upon yourself just like you show your gratuity to those who serve you.
I usually send along $50 per year to help keep the motivation up and I can tell you that FS has come a long way since my first download.
This latest S2L engine is a good example of that if there ever was one.

I am FS user too. It works on the same PC together with VDJ flawlessly. Here is an interesting thread about getting beats directly from VDJ to FS. Great idea!

Hey Folks,
Auidobox in my opinion is a must have for Freestyler. S2L is nice but if the beats stop, so does the sequence. Audiobox keeps the sequence moving even if the beats stop for a bit. This is great during a quiet part of a tune where the beats cuts out. I like the new Freestyler version which lets me choose which sound 2 light method a certain sequence uses, I can use Audiobox, or switch that off and use S2L by pressing the speaker icon on the sequence, or i use just the speed slider. The S2L is nice for random control of a REVO III.
If you are interested in Audiobox, you can PM me.

Greetings,
I'm a newbee Freestyler DMX user. I got an "out of mothballs" laptop to run it. It connects to the lights with a with a Velleman Interface and it runs to 2 Chevaut Q-Spot 150s and 2 Chevaut COLORPallets right now. Next DMX purchase is a multi-beam and multi-color Laser.
I select the DMX value to activate sound mode from the light itself. The COLORPallets are awesome in sound mode and strobe on. And the Q-150s get pretty wild in sound mode. All are totally programable I love it.
I'm aiming to create buttons that will do various scenes. Just a few basic ones since this system is moblie and installs into different size rooms. I suppose I'll eventually have a nice library of sweeps and strobe movements.
I couldn't see running Freestyler DMX off my main VDJ computer and running the DMX. I need every CPU second to run the Videos. But I'll be testing this out.
Perhaps toggling screens and the CPU load won't be too bad. I have dual core so let them sort it out. Does anyone if you can assign a core to a particular app? Can VDJ be assigned to one core and Freestyler to the other? Would that make sense?
Regards,
JimL.

Hey LINEMAN55,
I discovered something very interesting. When the red line is through the speaker on a particular sequence in the Cue Window, only MIDI control will make the sequence run. In my case i have Audiobox going which keeps the beat just fine. Audiobox detects the BPM of the music and sends a continuous stream of midi notes to the sequence. If the red line is not through the speaker, both Audiobox and Sound 2 Light control the sequence. Now try this. Adjust the Sound 2 Light Beat Freq. slider to 200 Hz. Press the speaker icon so that the red line is not through it. Have Audiobox and Sound 2 light running. WOW! The sequence goes to the beat but it is pushed ahead by the transients in the music. What a great effect.
If you have the line through the speaker and click on the button to disable the React to tap/ manual trigger the speed slider now controls the sequence instead. You must quickly stop then start the sequence to get this effect going.
I have a gig this weekend and i can hardly wait to try out all this stuff.

If you can steer me to this Audiobox program..I will try it.
I find if you have S2L active on a sequence wether the speaker is active or not it still goes to the beat.I have activated each fixture when I brought them in to FS
While playing your sequence, if you grab the blue bar slider in the cue window and drag to increase the speed of the lights it temp disables S2L for that sequence until you bring it back to 100%
Fun program to work with..now Im looking at getting 2 Chauvet MINspot LED moving heads to add to the show!
