I would suggest asking them for requests in advance. Also, be prepared to repeat a popular track at least twice.

I always send a packet to the student council to fill out. Next weekend I'm doing a Homecoming dance so I sent my packet out early. Your best bet is usually in the Top 40. Middle school kids are sheep, high school is a little trickier!
