Topic: Am I missing something?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Sorry for the over the top Noob question.

I just DLed version 6 to my personal laptop, not work. . . I am looking for the "remote control" section so I can pick my Numark ICDX's.

What am I missing? I thought it would come with this preloaded already.

Check page 59 of the user guide. I think that's what you're looking for.

i had to go to the manufacturer website for my controller to download the updates for my rmx and the remote control section popped up after the updates were downloaded--you may wanna check that out

Thaks for the advice guys...

There are many features explained in detail with a look at the user guide located at the link below as well as on the system with the vdj install.
It is located at start/programs/virtualdj/user guide.

I invite you to browse our new WIKI at the link below.
All of the information you could possibly want is there.

Page 59 is talking about time coded vynil... I just want to click on my ICDX icon like in v5

OK, been awhile now since I used vdj5, thought you were looking to setup tccd's.

Figured it out...

FYI - for anyone else..

Make sure the "show only coneccted divises" is not clicked.

LOL ... the Show only Connected ... means that VirtualDJ will only show the devices it has detected and are properly connected to your system. It does not activate the devices. If you uncheck the option - you simply gain access to the entire list of supported controllers - Again, IT DOES NOT ACTIVATE the device.

You have to put the iCDX in MIDI mode before you activate/open VirtualDJ.
When VirtualDJ is opening it will detect and activate the connection to the recognized devices.
You only need to go to the Config -> Mapper tab if you want to make a change to the mapping of a device.

There is no more Remote Control tab or requirement for you to manually activate the device.

thanks again everyone!

well then cstoll that makes sence...

I don't have any MIDI hooked up to my computer.. I was just playing with the new version.... Thanks again for all your help .

What? Your first post asked about the iCDXs. They are MIDI controllers so why would you not have them ON and in USB-MIDI mode attached to your system to properly test the capabilities of the software?

Hence not having my ICDX's hooked up to my laptop. .. . I wanted to check out the new version before I dump in on my work computer. I can't have anything messing up at a wedding.

Thanks agian for the info..

On V5 i change my ICDX's to MIDI AFTER I boot up VDJ, I now know this will not work for V6. . . Just have to keep reminding myself.

It will work by activating the controllers to MIDI after VDJ is open ... it's just recommended to put them in the mode before opening VDJ.

got ya... thanks again for all the help!
