Topic: search too strict?

Please bare with me so I can understand the search function.
If i do the following search

michael* jackson* medley
I will get all of my files displayed that has the 3 words in at least the title or the artist.
example of what is displayed
Title Artist
Ultimate medley Michael Jackson
Flashback Medley Michael Jackson
Ultimate Michael Jackson Medley Michael Jackson

If i change the search criteria to
Michael Jackson Medley
I only get
Title Artist
Ultimate Michael Jackson Medley Michael Jackson

If i change the search criteria to
Medley Michael Jackson or Medley* Michael* Jackson
Nothing gets displayed.

I have the followng checked in the bullseye drop down
title
artist
filepath
filename
comment
bpm

My question is:
Why doesn't the search return all files with the 3 words (michael jackson medley) no matter what order i key them into the search box?
I would think the if I keyed in
Michael Jackson Medley that the following would be displayed but it isn't.

Title Artist
Ultimate medley Michael Jackson
Flashback Medley Michael Jackson
Ultimate Michael Jackson Medley Michael Jackson

The search is based on exact characters. So if you type Michael Jackson, any file with that exact text, including order of words will show up. That is why Michael Jackson will return the 3 results, but Michael Jackson Medley with only return the one. Just like Jackson, Michael will not give you any of those three file results, unless the file or mp3 tag is labeled like that.

To me it would seem much more sensible if if the wildcard (* key) was the space bar instead of *, then like you say all your results would be shown from just typing normally.

But that's not the way it is unfortunately, and as far as I know there's no option to change it.
