Remove information from files that WERE analyzed????
AM I doing something wrong all of a sudden?
Thursday night I added files..did "check" and then "fix" to optimize database, ran 5hrs. SHutdown vdj. Tonight I find a TON of files missing information that WAS present.
This is a P.I.T.A. to say the least.
Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong. This is really beginning to bother me.
Part of me says to zap the database, which used v5 to make the v6 on this drive, and start over. It will only take 36hrs to scan everything. I can certainly do that. What do the higher ups think?

Don't have a total solution, but before I add any files, I Fix before I add anything, then Check and Clean afterwards.
Actually, the exact process I follow is:
- Fix
- Add tracks
- Manually add to search database (I've the auto add to search db turned off!)
- Select my filter folder to highlight newly added files (i.e. tracks not previously scanned) & Analyze them
- Select my filter folder again to ensure none remain
- Check db
- Clean db
...then repeat the whole thing again for any other tracks I need to add.
Also, I only add files in relatively small numbers - max 2-3 CD's at a time and repeat the whole process again.
If I don't do this, I lose lots of info. This is the only way that seems to minimise the amount of data I lose. (If I add >30 or 40 tracks at a time without following this process, I can lose a sh*t load of info! Not good!).
Not sure if this helps you - I hope so!
I agree though, it's a P.I.T.A.

I thought "Clean" will clear your cue points. Am I mistaken?

I thought Clean was only meant to remove old links in the database to files that can no longer be found...

It does NOT clear your cue points. (Though I'm not versed enough in exactly *what* it does.)

Still a major PITA for me too. I also fix/check/clean after I add songs. I always have songs that get lost. I did find a fix for a few days when I scanned every song in my "not scanned" folder. This worked for a few days only to have songs disappear and I have to scan again. I also "recurse" every time I add songs. Not sure if that is what causes it. All my songs are stored on a separate partition exclusively used for music.
Interestingly enough my other computer "with songs stored externally" does not lose track info.

Hi,
Hmmm... I have existing songs tagged as "file does not exist". I browse to the folder identifying the song in the "file info" and it shouldn't be there right? Well it is there. Something went amiss.
I re-scan and all ok. What creates the drop out? I haven't had time to dive into the XML files to explore fully, but I'll get there... just to help out a little.
On the brighter side I had my first gig on 6.0.2 and it was flawless. I was a littel stressed using the new release... and a new skin to the public. But, all went well.
I loaded the dj fandos MFF VJ skin. I gotta say this is the BEST skin I've used so far. It was just a little nerve racking with only 2 practice sessions on this new skin. But I got complements from several critics... and that overpowers the stress issue.
Great job dj fantos. I love the new key change knob, the 2 extra cue point buttons & the overall layout. I have my Vestax VCI-100 all mapped out the way I like it (thanks to the awesome new map app) and all is good for now.
This week I'll be inventoring my music databases to see what has lost info. I seem to be NOT losing any virtual folders anymore. Thanks Atomix if you made some improvements to the database handling of virtual folders in this 6.0.2 release.
