Topic: Hercules RMX RCA's or 1/4" Jacks?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi, ive had my RMX since xmas and have been bedroom DJing ever since, while in my bedroom i just ran it through a Hi-fi system via the RCA outputs. It has been fine with not one problem!

However, i have just started DJing in a local club, using the exact same setup, RCA's into the PA system! i thought this was odd becuase i thought the 1/4" Jacks are meant to be used?

The sound plays fine through the system as it is BUT i get interference when i switch the smoke machine/lasers/lights on and off! like a really loud bang.

All i want to know is, is it worth me buying the correct leads (1/4" jacks) to plug into the PA? Do you think this would illiminate any interference? and would it make any difference in sound quality?

Any help or advise is much appreciated! Thanks in advance Mike

I use the 1/4 inch jacks. According to Hercules they are +4db louder than the RCAs.

Ok thanks, for the price they are i think i'm going to invest in some!

i use jacks, but this will not reduce the interference you are getting, try and get your sound set up on a different circuit to what you know is giving the problem, i used to work in a venue and got the clips and bangs when the bottle banks switched on and off, did the simple thing and swapped to another circuit.

I use the jacks to,

Skytronic legends are good but pricey
