Topic: New Analogue or Midi Mixer ?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I’m currently using an analogue mixer with my RMX, for a few reasons:

(1) Don’t have enough volume control over the RMX mic input (not enough volume), even though I’m using a fairly standard vocal mic (Shure SM58).

(2) I like to be able to manipulate the EQ on the mic channel(s).

(3) I sometimes need a 2nd mic (for some events I need to also have a wireless mic).

(4) I don’t really like the RMX high/mid/bass controls on my sound output.

I’m using a 24-channel mixer, just because I had it from band-playing days. It’s way overkill for what I need for DJ’ing. I’d like to downsize my mixer. I could really reduce my required foorprint size if I could get one of the following:

(a) A 4-channel analogue mixer (reasonably good quality), that’s got faders. Any 4-channel mixers I’ve seen seem to have knobs!

(b) A midi mixer that gives me better EQ and better volume capabilities with 2 mic inputs and works well with VDJ.

I know I’m not looking for much (!!), but would appreciate any suggestions you folks may have. Or perhaps theres another option I'm overlooking...

Thanks in advance.

Can't you plug your mic into the main mixer, I don't know anyone that uses the mic input on the RMX!

The mixer I think you should look at is Pioneer DJM 5000
