Hi Cstoll,
one deck is on layer 1 and the other deck is on layer 2. I've also reset the players to factory default settings like you suggested.

I understand, but I didn't see any specific fixes towards the 5500 platters that's why I was asking.

The issues with the 5500, I don't believe is specific to the unit ... it was performance issues of the software .. so that's why you don't see any specific 5500 statements listed.

fixed - lol

Tried 6.0.3 last night and I'm still having the cue drifting problem with the moving platters on the 5500's.

John,

I went back through the posts and I am not sure what more I can suggest ... the Jog Sensitivity options should make a difference on how the track control relates to the velocity of movement from the controller. Maybe try changing the latency of the unit to the 10ms setting and see if that help ? But, I am running out of options ... :(

I'll try that. Thanks for all your help and support. Even though I have this issue you guys still rock and VirtualDJ is still the best DJ software in my opinion.

i found the problem with the denon loosing signal had to do with the power setting on your usb root hubs in the device manager. If you turn off the power saving option in the usb root hub properties you should be good to go. I used win7 with 2 5500 friday for 9 hours straight with no issues.

I have a denon 5500 and I tried using VV with it in midi mode. I agree there seem to be no effect when adjusting the scratch sensitivity in 6.0.3. What I am trying to do, is convert all my files to mp3 since I use mostly ogg. The denon's are made for cds and mp3s If you are willing to part with cuepoints, and VV database then, external mass media device is the way to go. I guess we were better off with cds. Or you might just have a get a keyboard usb hub, and search the Db in Denon music manager.
Issues.
1. Scratch mode needs to improve. Drastically
2. Easy to access virtualDj effect not so easy on denon 5500, easier on numark Dmc2
3.There should be a autoloop feature.
4. The denon itself should be taught through programming how to read the database so where you make a cue point it will always jump back to that point. (when scratching). Instead of slipping. The only way this feat works okay with midi when scratching is taping the cue (1,2,3) when scratching. It returns the scratch to the point where you wanna catch the beat.
5. The echo suchs. Can we have echo like the one native to the denon 5500, when you stop the cue it echo's out.

All the controllers that use midi are not up to par with using Cds. I am happy that the techology is available, it makes it easy for us djs to get around with just a harddrive. But when other dj play thier cds the sound more professional because cd based platform tabletops and rack mounts are more stable than software controllers. And don't get me started on controll cds both from VV and Serato, worse peace of s*&*

Just tried the 5500's with the new firmware update (SYS1400) and they are reacting the same as far as que slippage when scratching. This leads me to believe that Silvio is right as far as the problem beying on the software side.

the thing is that you are not using the timecodes....i have a pair of cdj-400, which use the usb. it mixes great but the only problem of using usb directly and no timecodes is that your scratches will be off....trust me...i know what im saying...if you would get the serato sl1 box and use it as timecode...it will work like magic!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if the new update (6.0.7) fix the platter issues we've been having with the Denon DN-HS5500's?
