Topic: Hercules RMX to Pioneer DJM-600 mixer to speakers?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I just plugged my output from hercules rmx into the DJM-600 mixer via regular RCA cables. The mixer then feeds out to my speakers (5.1 crappy AIWA speakers I use for TV/gaming). However, the volume is incredibly soft! the mixer is receiving it at very high levels and through my headphones it sounds brilliant. However, it's soft at the loudest volume on those speakers. however, if i go directly from the rmx console to speakers it sounds loud and fine.

So, the question is: do I need an amp? What else could be the problem?

Hello frenzal,

If your mixer needs a pro level sound, you should connect DJ Console Rmx jack 1/4" outputs to the mixer instead of the DJ Console Rmx RCA outputs: on DJ Console Rmx, the output level on the RCA outputs is -10dBv, while the jack 1/4" output level is +4dBu, so you have a much louder level on the jack 1/4 outputs.
