Topic: Dual Soundcard setup??

Hi Everyone.
My laptop only has 1 output for sound on it. So I purchased a USB card and installed it.
Now, How do I use the internal soundcard for the main output and the USB card for preview with headphones??? I have tried every combination and the closest I got was using this configuration:
Output: Headphones
Soundcard: 2 cards
Soundcard : Primary sound driver
Second Card: Speakers (USB Audio)
Output Channels: Master first card / Headphones second card

What this does is plays both decks through the main as usual and if you are running deck 1 you can preview a song through the headphones.... BUT if you switch to deck 2 the song on deck 2 (right deck) comes through the headphones WITH the preview song.

Any help would be great!!!!

you got the idea, select usb sound card as main and lappy sound card as headphones

Thanks for the quick reply. That still didnt work. If I do that no mater what side the crossfade is on deck 2 plays.

Any other Ideas?
 
ok i need a lil more info about your setup like

1 do you have a mixer ?
2 what is the usb sound card (name and type 5.1 or 4.1 in some on)?

this will help us to help you
 
i'm not sure as its many years since using a trial version, but seem to remember some fubctions disabled in trial, is this question related to that?
 
is your outputs set on external mixer ?

Here are your questions answered....
I Run through a dj board but for testing Im just using powered pc speakers. 1 set per output.
The USB card is just a 3d sound USB card with 1 output and 1 mic in.
I am not using a trial version. Full Version.

I hope this helps out. I realy want to get this righ before switching to 6.
